Plo Koon was a Kel Dor male Jedi Master who served the Galactic Republic during the Clone Wars. He was renowned for his piloting skills, Force abilities, and dedication to the Jedi Order.

Koon's distinctive appearance was due to his Kel Dor physiology, which required him to wear special goggles and an anti-oxygen mask in oxygen-rich environments such as those found on most Republic planets. He was a skilled warrior, equally adept with a lightsaber and commanding starfighters in battle.

He is perhaps best known for discovering Ahsoka Tano, whom he brought to the Jedi Temple for training. He played a crucial role in many battles during the Clone Wars, frequently leading clone trooper squadrons and engaging Separatist forces. He met his tragic end during the execution of Order 66, shot down while piloting his starfighter. His first appearance was in Star Wars: Episode I - The Phantom Menace, although his role was greatly expanded in Star Wars: The Clone Wars animated series.
